What Happens When You Go to Bed Without Washing Your Face?

We all do it once in a while (and I have certainly done it more often since I had kids…).  It happens!  Yes, I know it’s bad to leave make-up on your skin overnight, and no, I don’t like how my skin looks the next day, but the world won’t end if it happens once in a while, right?  But…I do wonder: What actually does happen when I don’t wash my face before I go to bed at night?

1.  Fertile Ground for Clogged Pores & Pimples

While pretty much all make-up or sunscreens these days are non-comedogenic and won’t break you out per se, it is still “stuff” that, when it remains on the skin for an extended time, will mix with our skin’s own sebum, as well as dirt and bacteria (how often do you touch your face throughout the day?) to increase the risk of clogged pores and bacterial proliferation, resulting in new pimples or existing ones getting worse.  Even if you don’t wear make-up, the mix of dirt, sebum and added bacteria can lead to pore congestion over time.

2.  Skin Irritation and Inflammation

Throughout the day, we are exposed to micro-particles, pollutants and allergens that can more or less stick to the skin unless we wash it off.  And depending on your immune system and how well your skin’s own protective barrier functions, those allergens, micro-particles and pollutants can irritate and sensitize skin.

3.  Less Efficient Natural Exfoliation

Your skin sheds naturally all the time, although you wouldn’t see it with your eyes.  But having a sticky mix on your skin at the end of the day and through the night impedes the natural exfoliation process, making your skin look dull and possibly clogging pores.  Washing your face with a regular cleanser at night helps your skin’s shedding process, even if it does not contain any actual exfoliators agents.

4.  Skin Dehydration

Even with proper moisturizing, we loose water through the skin throughout the day and night in what is called transepidermal water loss (TEWL).  Not washing your face on a particular night probably also means that you are not applying any treatment products either, that would replenish hydration.  I’ve always wondered why my skin feels grimy, yet parched the morning after not washing (and treating) my face.  Well…after 24 hours of TEWL without replenishment, skin will loose its suppleness…

5.  Missed Opportunity

Your skin acts differently at night than it does during the day.  If not washing your face at night also means not applying any treatment before bed, that means you are missing out on nourishing your skin in a major way during a time when its in peak recovery mode.  If have issues with break-outs, you are also missing out on helping your skin battle pimples and other issues without the typical day-time interference like sunscreen and make-up.  So even if not-washing your face once in a while isn’t a big deal, not treating your skin is still a missed opportunity.

Lately, to motivate myself to wash my face at night, even if I am super tired, I try to visualize how it will help my skin breathe more freely.  And knowing how much better my skin looks and feels the following morning if I go through my skincare ritual usually gets me moving toward the sink as well.  What helps motivate you to wash your face even when you are tired or feeling lazy?

UV Radiation Primer with 6 Easy Sun Protection Tips

Is that another sunspot on my 3 year old daughter’s face?!? We put sunscreen on her face everyday, but yes, I skip a day or two when we are rushing out the door. Pool season is here, and I have been a BAD mother. I have not properly shielded her from a life of wrinkles, saggy, rough and dull skin! Another thing for her to blame me for when she becomes eighteen. Thankfully, my non-paranoid rational brain kicks in and reminds me that it never hurts to freshen up on UV radiation and how to protect oneself from the sun.

UVA/UVB Primer

Big picture reference: UV Radiation is shorter wavelength than visible light (700-400nm) in the electromagnetic (light) spectrum.

UVA I (340-400nm) and UVA II (320-340nm) together make up 95% of the UV radiation that reaches the earth’s surface, where we humans live. UVA is present with relatively equal intensity during all daylight hours, throughout the day, and can penetrate clouds and glass. Wait, I spend more hours in the car than I would care to discuss, and UVA penetrates glass. Plus, windows of cars do NOT have UV protective film. UVA penetrates deeper into the skin than UVB, to the dermis (skin photo-aging and wrinkles!), but does some dirty work in the epidermis layer above the dermis where it damages skin cells in the basal layer – basal, squamous, and melanocyte.

UVB (290-320nm) varies by season, location, weather, and time of day. In the northern hemisphere, significant UVB rays only make it through from about 10am to 4pm, October(ish) til March(ish), depending on what city you are in. UVB is the only ray that makes vitamin D. But to get the right amount, it has to be between those months and times on sunny days, full body exposure for about 15 minutes, depending on your skin color, age, etc. UVB tends to damage skin more superficially in the epidermis, and cause reddening and sunburn. This can be throughout the year, even with cloud cover. But bright side, UVB doesn’t really make it through glass!

Both UVA and UVB rays can have an 80% bounce rate on reflective snow, water, or ice! That’s almost double the damage! Both rays can damage and age your skin and eyes resulting in wrinkles, sagging, thinning skin, or cataracts. On the good side, both rays can be blocked or absorbed by protective clothing, hats, or the appropriate sunscreen protection, and sunglasses. We usually do these, but sometimes we forget!

Protection is Key! Make it Easy and a Habit!

  • Broad spectrum (UVA/UVB) sunscreen everyday, or most days
  • Long sleeves unless it’s 90F out
  • Broad-brimmed hat when we spend time outdoors
  • But wait, I realized I had not factored in the amount of time we spend in the car. So today, I booked an appointment to get UV blocking film applied to my four door car, about $300, but lifetime warranty!
  • UV blocking Sunglasses- not the cheap kind. Get one from a reputed store. A tinted lens is not the same as a UV blocking lens.
  • And the clincher – placement of the sun accessories by the door with a mirror, especially if you have children. Visual cue to start the sun protection habit.

Do you have any additional ideas on sun protection? Please share! I need all the help I can get.

A UV primer only gets you so far. Next up, I have to dig deep and consider whether to sacrifice sun protection for Vitamin D (there’s a whole host of research on why vitamin D is great for you!) and find out more about how UV rays affect the skin and eyes. Then ingredients that block and absorb, clothing that protects – SPF and UPF…. Anything else you can think of so I can learn more to keep my daughters’ skin healthy and dewy? And mine as well!

Let’s Avocado All Over, Inside & Out

Did you know there are hundreds of types of avocadoes in the world, and that they’re actually a fruit, not a vegetable? And not are they just super tasty, but additionally extremely nutritious so here’s to a moment of celebrating an ingredient that we can all love and be creative with, as seen in cultures all over the world. Like in the US, they are super delicious as a guacamole – but in Indonesia, common uses include drinking them as a juice, and also putting it in your hair… Curious? Read on.

BASICS FIRST. WHY ARE THEY SO HEALTHY?

Avocados are a good source of pantothenic acid, dietary fiber, vitamin K, copper, folate, vitamin B6, potassium, vitamin E, and vitamin C. They are are full of beta sitosterol, a chemical that has been shown to have a beneficial impact on the blood levels and helps reduce inflamation. Research shows that avocados are rich in oleic acid, which is a fatty acid associated with reducing the LDL (bad cholesterol), improving the ratio between good and low-density lipoprotein… all in, this is a super heart healthy fruit we should all enjoy!
The great thing about avocados is its ability to be utilized in a wide range of dishes. A simple sandwich with avocado and a little lemon juice sprinkled on top can be a fantastic snack and keep you feel full and satisfied for very long, and you can always enhance with anything from sundried tomatoes to hummus. Avocados are also a great addition to any vegetable salad. Make certain to include avocados in the daily eating routine. My dad makes it a habit to eat 1/2 an avocado every morning with olive oil and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar to maintain his youthful 77 years young!

USES IN INDONESIA.

I like to think the centuries of its use has given us a lot of time to get creative with it…
IN A JUICE: Blend 1/2 an avocado with ice, water (or coconut water), 1 tbsp of condensed milk, and 1/2 tsp of instant coffee. Makes 1 cup. It has a sweet, delicious Avocado flavor with just a touch of a coffee aroma and flavor to make it a touch more aromatic and flavorful. For an decoration, you can squirt some chocolate syrup on the inside of the walls of a transparent glass cup before pouring in the juice for extra festive appearance! Here’s a fun recipe.

IN YOUR HAIR: Yes, seriously. In your hair. An avocado’s fats and rich texture makes for a great hair conditioning treatment and nourishes your scalp. In our traditional Indonesian “cremebath” treatment, you go to a salon to get a 45 min head, shoulder and arm massage (aka mini piece of heaven) while receiving a deep conditioning treatment with a natural hair mask. For dry skin, we use Avocado. You can make your own hair mask by mashing an avocado and mixing in an egg yolk if you have dry hair, or a banana if you have dull hair. You can give yourself a hair massage if you want then put on a shower cap for 30 minutes. Rinse with water or light shampoo.

ON YOUR FACE: There are DIY masks, but then there is our Java Plum & Avocado Nourishing mask that has all the yummm without the mess. Nourishing avocado is mixed with skin firming Java Plum and mild fruit acids to smooth and hydrate skin in this leave-on mask. We love avocadoes for skin so much we decided to make a mask with it!

Deliciously Soft, Juicy Skin with this Quick & Easy DIY Mask

By JUARA Co-Founder, Yoshiko Roth-Hidalgo

“OMG, you have to check this out, I can’t stop touching my skin!”  That was my chat message to my partners Metta and Jill, after I experimented with a new DIY face mask recipe to help with my winter-parched, rough skin.

I love to experiment when I cook.  No matter how specific a recipe is, I can’t help but tweak it somehow, even if in small ways, just to see what happens to the flavor.  Same thing with skincare.  I am constantly experimenting with products, not only with what I use, but also how I use them.  That’s how I stumbled across this easy and quick DIY face mask that left my skin soft, supple, almost juicy…simply yummy.

What makes this so easy is the fact that you are combining 2 actual products, JUARA Tamarind Tea Hydrating Toner and Radiance Vitality Oil, with 2 readily available food ingredients:  brown sugar and honey.  This mixture together makes for a luscious treatment that polishes, hydrates and smooths skin immediately.  The toner is packed with hyaluronic acid, tamarind seed extract and soothing green tea, white tea and black tea extracts.  The face oil nourishes skin with 7 different omega fatty acids (3, 5, 6, 7 & 9) and Vitamin C.  Sugar acts as a polish but together with honey also acts as a wonderful humectant.  This recipe is so quick and easy, you can do this mask any time of the day, as a quick pick-me-up or as part of a relaxing ritual.

Ingredients & Directions:

Brown Sugar  – 2 teaspoons

Tamarind Tea Hydrating Toner – 2 pumps

Radiance Vitality Oil – 1 dropper-ful (not just 1 drop!)

Honey – Big Drizzle, 0r up to 1 teaspoon

Gather all ingredients.  Add all ingredients in a small glass bowl and mix with a spoon.  Add more of the ingredients to get the right consistency.  As the sugar starts to melt, it will become a slushy consistency, that spreads easily on the skin.

Apply all over face massage lightly in circular motion.  Leave on for 10-15 minutes.  I even leave it on for an hour or so, while I do all kinds of household chores and other work.  Rinse off with lots of tepid water and pat dry.  You can follow with a moisturizer for added dewiness, if you like.  For my normal to dry skin type, I usually don’t.

Enjoy smooth, supple skin!

Ingredient Spotlight: Candlenut

Oh the Candlenut. Also known as Kemiri in Indonesian, Kukui in Hawaii, and a staple in food, beauty, and health treatments. Also known affectionately as “the poor man’s macadamia nut” in Indonesia, we love this ingredient for not only its variety of uses but the benefits it has! Here are some popular uses in Indonesia:

Beauty:

  • Crushed into bits, the soft candlenuts can create a beautiful exfoliating and hydrating scrub – the soft nuts gently slough off dead skin cells while the dry oils of the candlenut moisturize your skin at the same time.
  • Candlenut oil is an extremely popular choice for a deep conditioning/head massage treatment called the Cremebath, for making hair healthy and black, with a silky shine.

Food

  • A staple in Indonesian cuisine, Candlenuts are often cooked into curries, giving dishes a delicious, lightly nutty and savory flavor.
  • Toasted whole, it tastes like a lighter, crunchier version of a macadamia nut – bon apetit! (Note: Candlenuts must be cooked before eaten.)

Health

  • The oil from roasted candlenuts can be massaged into a babies’ head as a treatment for cradle cap. The dry oil penetrates skin gently and deeply, without any greasy afterfeel (hence its signature velvety feel), leaving skin healthy and not covered in oil.
  • Candlenut (aka Kukui nut) oil is also great for giving relief to eczematic skin due to its high skin penetrability, allowing moisture to enter while also letting skin breathe.

Candlenut Oil  is very high in Omega 3 and Omega 6 Essential Fatty Acids (EFA).  In fact, the oil is 69% EFA, which puts it up there with Flax Seed Oil and Chia Seed Oil (71% and 70% respectively).  Almond Oil has 17%, Avocado has 10%, Rice Bran Oil has 36%, just to give you perspective. Why is this important?  Application of EFA is key in strengthening the skin’s lipid barrier which is why, for example, Evening Primrose Oil (81%) is often prescribed for Eczema Patients.

It also contains glycerides of linoleic, oleic and various linolenic acids, which are essential to skin health.

We love the oil so much our cult classic product, the Candlenut Body Creme, is based on Candlenut oil! As the product that started it all for JUARA, it has become a love-at-first-sight product for countless JUARA customers, celebrities and beauty editors. An ultra-nourishing complex of velvety Candlenut Oil, firming Rice Bran Oil, redness-reducing Avocado Oil and rich Illipe Butter give you long-lasting moisture without the greasiness… definitely more than just a “feel good” product, but one that’s good for you. Curious? Learn more here.

Candlenut Body Creme

Likewise, our popular Candlenut Hydrating Shower Gel is a sulfate-free, delightfully foaming body cleanser infused with candlenut oil that takes you to the tropics with our signature Candlenut fragrance, while leaving your skin supple, clean, and soft. Encased in an elegant bottle, this shower gel is as pleasing to use as it is to the eye in the beautiful batik-inspired bottle and easy-to-use pump. Curious? Learn more here

Sleeping Beauty: The Do’s and Don’ts of Skin Saving Slumber

Sleeping Beauty…

You may think that you have heard it all before, how important “beauty sleep” is and about getting seven to eight hours of per night blah blah blah. Maybe your schedule doesn’t allow you a super long night’s rest or you’re a night owl or early bird. Many of us just can’t get in the recommended amount of sleep, and feeling tired all day is definitely no fun.

But did you know that the sleeping position you choose can trick your body into feeling like it has gotten way more sleep than it has? So, stop counting sheep and try out these different sleep positions!

The Cold Hard Truth

Here at Juara we promise you the truth and nothing but the truth, so here it is: getting a good night’s rest is pivotal for not only our skin, but your health, mental state, and mood (you don’t want to be asked if “you woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.”)

Below we have put together a list of the best and worst sleeping positions to help you optimize your hours of beauty sleep to stay healthy. Founder and editor in chief Helen Sanders of Health Ambition, (which provides easy to understand health and nutrition advice that makes a real impact,) has some great information on healthy sleeping positions too!

Your PM  Poses

1. On your back

Sleeping on your back makes it easier on the head, neck, and spine. This position aligns the body straight, keeping it in a neutral position. If you have lower back pain, sometimes it may help to place a pillow underneath your knees to alleviate the discomfort from being on your back for too long.

2.  Starfish

Another good position for your back, and prevents facial wrinkles and skin breakouts. Research has also proven that sleeping on your back can combat acid reflux. In the starfish position, you are lying on your back with both arms around the pillow. It is important to note that this position can cause snoring!

3. On your side

Sleeping on your side is the second best position and especially beneficial for those who have sleep apnea. Sleeping on your side opens up the oropharynx and elongates the spine to alleviate back pain (please include source and source link). However, there is a good and bad to everything! Side sleeping could lead to unwanted skin aging since placing one side of your face on the pillow can cause wrinkles, and could even lead to the breasts sagging quicker (and we definitely don’t want that!). If you are already a side sleeper and experience have back pain, try placing a pillow in between the knees to help alleviate pressure.

Your PM  Pose-Nots (aka the worst sleeping positions)

1. On your stomach

Sleeping on your stomach is not advisable since it does not support the natural curve of the spine and can lead to overarching. When you sleep on your stomach, there is added pressure to your joints and numbness resulting in pain.

2. The fetal position

It may seem like the most comfortable but sleeping on your sides with you knees drawn up to your chest can lead to neck/ back pain, sleep lines, and wrinkles. Whenever you sleep on your side, the side or front of your facial skin will be pulled or stretched. If you are sleeping on a high pillow, your head is slightly down and a double-chin gradually appears after a long time.

You sleep with your whole body, and the position you choose affects everything from sleep quality to premature aging. Sleeping positions are greatly related to Your skin (and body’s) metabolism is regulated at night, so making sure you get enough beauty sleep really does impact your beauty!

Beauty Maintenance 24/7

Don’t forget – we also experience evaporation of moisture from our skin when we sleep, so to look even more glowing and rested in the AM, the right skincare prep before bed can also do wonders. Let’s not neglect the evening hours are opportunity for skin TLC, treatment, and reset that may undo the damage from the day – especially when the concern is dehydration, pollution, or sun exposure! It’s important to make sure your skin is clean and moisturized before sleeping – and a to have a simple, easy to follow JUARA skincare ritual is always beneficial to undo the stressors of the day. A simple 4-Step to Cleanse, Tone, Treat, and Moisturize process that takes less than 5 minutes with visible results in the AM. Enjoy!

Summer Readiness – Here We Come.

Summer is the season for sunshine!  With beaches, dining al fresco, summer fridays (read: buh-bye office walls!), and generally being outdoors, you can easily be more prepared than you realize! You’ve heard repeatedly to never leave the house without sunblock, reapply several times a day (as its effectiveness reduces with light exposure, or just from coming off from sweat/daily activities), but there’s a few extra tricks up our sleeve to keep your skin summer fresh and healthy. Being inspired by Indonesia, a tropical country with sun all year round, JUARA knows what a doozy rays near the equator, eternal sun and humidity can do, so here’s our faves to tackle common sun related skin situations!

SUNBURN RESCUE:

Oops. Didn’t we say slather up the SPF? Well, it happens to the best of us… the sunburn. Sunburns are caused when skin is overexposed to ultraviolet (UV) rays and can happen in as little as 15 minutes, but can take 2-6 hours for the symptoms to appear. Some symptoms of mild sunburn include redness and tenderness, and for that, our Tamarind Tea Hydrating Toner is a great skin soothing treatment. It contains rice bran extract, which specifically reduces redness and irritation, hyaluronic acid and tamarind see extract to moisturize and cool – without oil or alcohol, and triple tea extracts packed with anti0xidants. It really is instant relief. (For serious symptoms including blistering, fever, chills and nausea, we suggest going to the doctor!)

GREASE BE GONE:

Does summer weather and humidity put your skin into a tizzy? Does your skin range from “well, it’s rather shiny” to “a greasy mess?” Our Sweet Black Tea & Ginger Mattefying Moisturizer is oil-free, yet contains Kombucha, our anti-aging fermented black tea complex, plus ginger and cinnamon that reduces sebum production. This means the moisturizer does not only reduce oil-induced shine at the moment, but it also means that the more time you use it over, the less “shiny” your skin will naturally become!

Sweet Black Tea & Ginger Mattefying Moisturizer

Another anti-shine darling? Our Clove Flower & Turmeric Anti-Aging Serum. Also with our Turmeric infused Radiance Complex, this oil-free serum serves as excellent hydration with seaweed, while containing skin firming ingredients including palm peptides, clove flower, and goji berries. Like an exotic fruit cocktail for your face – just less messy, and way more immediate in its firming, skin-smoothing results!

JUARA Clove Flower & Turmeric Anti-Aging Serum

POST-SUN RESET AND REFRESH:

Once you’ve been exposed to a day of rays, it’s always good to refresh and rejuvinate your skin! Counter sun, travel, or pollution exposure with our Turmeric Antioxidant Radiance Mask, which contains our potent Turmeric extract which neutralizes free radicals and brightens for a healthy “I am so HEALTHY!” glow. And we like to get our sexy natural radiance on – ready for the next day. This mask also contains Kaolin Clay is blended with Candlenut Oil to purify skin, absorbing impurities, while also keeping it moist and not overdried. Great for all skin types, just make sure you take it off when you leave the house because it just feels THAT GOOD on after 10 minutes! (Or just do what we do for a super treatment – apply a thin layer and leave on overnight. Wake up to the morning glow. Literally.)

And of course, we remind you to stay hydrated, make sure your sunglasses have a UV filter on them, try out a sun parasol if you’re feeling particularly stylish like some do in Asia, and keep smiling! Got any sun tips to share? We’d love to hear it!

Simple and Inexpensive Ideas to Make Mom Feel Extra Special

As the daughter of a mother who has always put the needs of others above her own, I am always in search of gifts that would show the love and appreciation I feel for my mom.  Wellness and self-care are high on my list, but I also know that spending time together is a big thing for my mom.  Interestingly, as a mother of 3 little kids, I crave me-time and catching up on sleep.  My mother, on the other hand, as I know a lot of mothers of grown kids do, values few things more than spending QT with her kids.  Here are some simple, inexpensive ideas to combine a beauty gift with time together.

1)  Give Mom a Hand Treatment

Who doesn’t love a great hand cream!  Hand Creams are amongst the most popular Mother’s Day gift ideas, but you can turn a simple hand cream into a super relaxing experience for Mom.  Next time you see her in person, sit down with her and give her a 5-minute massage.  There are a ton of how-to’s online, including this one on Wiki:  Want to take it even further?  Prep your mother’s hands and lower arm with a gentle cream scrub you can just wipe off before following with a hand cream.

Suggested Products:

Coconut Illipe Hand & Nail Balm ($20, 2.5 oz/ 73 mL)

Candlenut Body Crème ($35, 7.5 oz/ 213 g)

Candlenut Body Polish ($35, 7.5 oz/ 213 g)

2)  Found a Great Mask? Mask & Relax Together!

There is something incredibly relaxing about putting on a mask, maybe because it forces us to slow down a bit.  Why not take a 10 minute break with you Mom, apply the mask and sit down with her with a cup of soothing herbal tea!

Suggested Products:

Turmeric Antioxidant Radiance Mask ($38, 2.5 oz/ 73 mL)

Java Plum Avocado Nourishing Mask ($38, 2.5 oz/ 73 mL)

Rose Willowbark Purifying Mask ($38, 2.5 oz/ 73 mL)

3)  Enjoy a Home Made Jamu with Mom

What’s good for health and wellness is also good for outer beauty.  Jamu, the ancient Indonesian herbal tradition goes back centuries, but you can easily re-create a simplified Jamu drink at home and enjoy with your Mom.  Pour boiling water over a few slices of fresh turmeric and/ or ginger.  Add lemon, honey and a dash of black pepper – voila!  If fresh turmeric is hard to come by, just mix some turmeric powder with honey to create a paste and drop into a cup of hot water.

Check out this detailed recipe for a quick-and-easy Jamu!

4)  Try Some Beginner Yoga Moves Together (or Tai Chi, Pilates, Stretches, etc.)

Perhaps your Mom already does Yoga.  Maybe Tai Chi is more up her ally – It does not really matter, as long as it is simple for both of you and creates a shared experience that allows you to be present in the moment without any of the usual distractions.

Check out these beginner poses from Health Magazine.

Cleanse & Tone Correctly!

CLEANSING & TONING CORRECTLY: WHY IS IT SO IMPORTANT & WHAT DO I LOOK FOR?

With all the focus on powerful serums, eye creams and masks, you may be putting little thought into your cleanser and toner – if you even use a toner at all.  The truth is, your skin depends on them to look and feel its best.  Everything else in your skincare regimen – serums, creams, masks – will work BETTER if Step 1 and 2 is done right.  So what to look for?

CLEANSING: KEEPING IT GENTLE IS KEY

Freeing your skin of dirt, pollutants and make-up is crucial because they can irritate skin and block other treatment products from being absorbed properly. At the same time, keeping it gentle is key because stripping can trigger irritation as well and make your skin overly sensitive to active treatment products.  Our ever-so-lightly foaming, sulfate-free Rice Facial Cleanser leaves skin feeling clean, ready for the next step, but also soft and supple thanks to a touch of nourishing Candlenut Oil.

Try the Rice Facial Cleanser – 4.5 oz, $29, All Skin Types

EXPECT MORE FROM YOUR TONER!

This is your chance to soothe, refresh, hydrate and balance skin’s pH.  Not all toners are created equal, though.  Avoid harsh ingredients like alcohol, and instead look for hydrating and antioxidant-rich, soothing ingredients.  Our Tamarind Tea Hydrating Toner, while oil-free and alcohol-free, quenches thirsty skin, soothes and smoothes with a combination of Hyaluronic Acid, Green, White & Black Teas, Rice Bran, and Tamarind Seed.  The result: Skin is saturated with vital hydration and stays soft, supple throughout the day.  You will notice the difference!

Try the Tamarind Tea Hydrating Toner – 4.5 fl oz, $32, All Skin Types

CLEANSING TIP!
 Match Made In Cleansing Heaven:
Pair Our Rice Facial Cleanser With Your Favorite Cleansing Brush

Do you love the deep clean and face massage you get from your favorite electric cleansing brush?  Next time, pair it with our Rice Facial Cleanser! Since cleansing brushes provide a deeper and more thorough cleanse (including makeup removal,) it’s all the more important that you pair it with a gentle cleanser that won’t strip skin.  Refrain from using a scrub together with your brush and stick to no more than 2-3 times per week.
