Continue to Support Japan Earthquake Victims. Receive an Awareness Pin with your JUARA Purchase. (Yoshiko Roth-Hidalgo)

It has been a month since Japan was hit by the magnitude 9.0 earthquake and the tsunami that devastated much of the country’s North East coast on March 11, 2011. To add insult to injury, the country has had to deal with the nuclear crisis at the Fukushima Daiichi plant.

Recovery has started but it is a daunting, overwhelming task. Many, many people are still suffering, having lost family, their homes, all their possessions and their livelihood in what is said to be the costliest natural disaster in recorded history. Yes, Japan is a wealthy country, but the people of Japan need the world’s help to overcome this crisis, maintain hope and to recover.

JUARA has pledged 10% of all online sales generated at www.juaraskincare.com since March 13 to goto the Japan Earthquake Relief Fund of the Japan Society. We have decided to extend this campaign until the end of April. JUARA Co-Founder Yoshiko will personally match the proceeds to benefit the victims of the disaster.

As a token of appreciation for your purchase, we will include this “Help Japan Recover” awareness pin with every order. Please spread the word!

Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by the disaster and hope that together, we can help ease their suffering.

Meet Vanessa, who has been a JUARA fan and advocate in Indonesia and loves spreading the word. Different cultures, different climates, different seasons – but it looks like we all have some things in common, ladies!

If you are or have friends who are from a different country, what skincare products or treatments do you/they like? Do share, we love learning new things!

PS – We have a FREE SHIPPING on ALL ORDERS Special this Memorial Day Weekend. Friday, May 28 through Monday, May 31, 2010. Happy Shopping at JUARA!

Get ready because after these JAMUs, on the next installment of the JAMU series, I’ll be getting into more interesting ones, such as ones that cure particular ailments and also help on relationship issues… yep, as in you and your significant other. JAMU – JUARA’s Inspiration: #1 Intro

YouTube Preview Image

Hi, here’s a little less about JUARA and more about JAMU, the Indonesian herbal tradition from where JUARA was inspired. This will be the start of a series of videos covering a smattering of JAMU related topics – hope you enjoy a little history lesson in yummy little tidbits. Watch out, there’ll be a quiz at the end! Just kidding… Of course, if you do want to dig in deeper, there are more formal books and research materials from which I learned the information, so I’ll be more than happy to refer those to you too, but in the meantime, here’s to episode 1!
